President Biden Announces Key Appointments to the White House Environmental Justice Advisory Council

NCCSC is pleased to announce the presidential appointment of Anita Cunningham, NC Climate Solutions Coalition’s Co-Director, to President Biden’s Environmental Justice Advisory Council under Executive Order 14008 of January 27, 2021.
The Council provides advice and recommendations to the White House Environmental Justice Interagency Council and the Chair of the White House Council on Environmental Quality (WHEJAC) on how to address current and historic environmental injustice. The establishment of the WHEJAC marked the first time that a Presidential advisory body had been tasked with providing recommendations to the federal government on environmental justice. As a member of the Advisory Council, Anita will serve on President Biden’s federal advisory committee and shares his administration’s commitment to “Tackling the Climate Crisis at Home and Abroad.”
